Learn How to Use A2ZForU

Everything you need to know about finding services, creating listings, and more.

info What is A2ZForU?

A2ZForU brings nearby places, community information, and local businesses together in one searchable, location-based directory. Use the map to discover public and community listings around an area—for example, find a park, hospital, school, or petrol station while exploring a town.

For location-based searches, Near me can find listings within a distance you choose from your saved home/profile location or your current location. For example, look for a nearby plumber from home, or find a grocery shop close to where you are now.

If you are travelling, choose Moving location to follow your position and direction with a forward-facing search cone. For example, while driving, search for petrol pumps ahead along your route, then refresh the map to load listings for your latest position and direction.

A2ZForU also helps businesses reach local customers. Business owners can publish listings describing their business, services, contact details, and location; consumers can search, compare details, read reviews, and contact them. Listings can also help people discover rentals and other useful local offers.

  1. Make sure you're logged in.
  2. Click the "+" button in the top-right header.
  3. Fill in the listing details:
    • Business name, short description, address, and city
    • Tags (e.g. "plumbing", "tutor", "grocery")
    • Contact info (phone, WhatsApp, website)
    • Location by clicking on the map or entering coordinates
  4. Full Description (Rich Text) is optional and lets you create a more detailed, styled description. group_add Creating Listings for Public Places (Non-Owner)

You don't need to be the owner to create a listing! A2ZForU allows anyone to add listings for public places and community resources such as:

  • ⛽ Gas stations / Petrol pumps
  • 🏛️ Government offices (ration shops, post offices, passport offices, etc.)
  • 🛕 Temples, churches, mosques and other religious places
  • 🏥 Public hospitals & clinics
  • 🏫 Schools, colleges & libraries
  • 🚉 Bus stands, railway stations & airports
  • 🏧 ATMs & banks
  • 🌳 Parks, gardens & community halls
  • And any other publicly useful location

When creating such a listing, simply uncheck the "I am the business owner" option. This will create a reviews-only listing (chat and discussions will not be available). For a community listing, only the title, description, and location selected on the map are required; address details and phone number can be added later by you or another community member.

Why create listings for public places?

  • Help others find important locations in their area.
  • Share contact information, addresses, and operating hours.
  • Build a community-driven directory of useful places.
edit_note Editing Listings to Help the Community

If you come across a listing with incomplete or incorrect contact information, you can help improve it! This is especially useful for non-owner listings (public places) where the original creator may not have added complete details.

  1. Open the listing you want to improve.
  2. If you're logged in and the listing is a non-owner listing, you'll see a card in the sidebar with the message: "If the contact info is incomplete or incorrect, edit and help others."
  3. Click the "Edit Listing" button.
  4. Update the phone number, address, website, social links, or any other details.
  5. Click "Save Changes" to publish your updates.

Note: Editing is only available for logged-in users. Anonymous viewers cannot edit listings. Owner-created listings can only be edited by their original owner.

By contributing accurate information, you help the entire community find and connect with the right places!

sort Sorting Listings — Latest, Top Rated & Latest Top Rated

The homepage search results can be sorted in three different ways using the "Sort by" dropdown next to the search bar:

  • Latest first — Listings are ordered by their most recent update time. Newly added or recently updated listings appear at the top. This is the default sort mode.
  • Top rated — Listings are ordered by their average rating (highest first). If two listings have the same rating, the one with more reviews appears first. This helps you find the most popular and well-reviewed businesses.
  • Latest Top Rated — This is a combined filter + sort mode:
    1. It first filters to show only listings that were added or updated within the last 7 days. Freshness can be changed in ... menu.
    2. Then it sorts those recent listings by average rating (highest first), with more reviews breaking ties.
This is useful when you want to discover new or recently updated businesses that the community has rated highly.

How to use:

  1. On the homepage, type your search query (e.g. "plumber", "cafe") in the search bar.
  2. Click the "Sort by" dropdown (labelled "Latest first" by default).
  3. Select one of:
    • Latest first — to see the most recently added/updated listings.
    • Top rated — to see the highest-rated listings first.
    • Latest Top Rated — to see the best-rated listings from the last 7 days.
  4. The results will automatically refresh with the new sort order.

Tip: Combine sorting with the "Near me" toggle to find, for example, the highest-rated plumbers near you, or the best new cafes in your area from the past week.

near_me How to Search with "Near Me"
  1. On the homepage, type what you're looking for in the search bar (e.g. "plumber", "tuition", "grocery").
  2. Allow your browser to access your location when prompted, or manually enter a location.
  3. The results will show listings sorted by distance from your location.
  4. Each result shows the distance in kilometres so you can pick the closest option.

Tip: The "Near Me" feature works best when location access is enabled.

explore Moving Location Cone Search & Refreshing the Map
  1. On the homepage, enter your search and make sure Near me is enabled.
  2. Open the Near me options menu (⋮), choose Moving location, and select the distance you want to search within.
  3. Allow location access when your browser asks. Moving-location search uses your current position and travel direction to show matching listings in a forward-facing cone. Keep the page open and allow location tracking while you move.
  4. Click Map to open the map. Your location marker and search cone follow your movement; the map rotates to keep the travel direction oriented forward.
  5. To get listings for your latest position and direction without closing the map, click the ↻ Refresh button in the map header. The results refresh using your current search, distance, and other active filters, and the map stays open.

Note: As you move, the map marker and cone update, but this does not by itself run a new listing search. If the app is still detecting your travel direction, wait briefly and click the map refresh button again. Location access must remain enabled for moving-location search.

star Reviews & Ratings

Each listing has a review section where you can:

  • Rate a business from 1 to 5 stars.
  • Write a review describing your experience.
  • Read reviews from other users to make informed decisions.

Your review helps the community find quality services!

forum Discussions (Q&A)

Every listing has a discussion board where you can:

  • Ask questions about the business or service.
  • Answer questions from other users.
  • Like or dislike discussion posts to highlight helpful content.

The listing owner and other community members can participate in the discussion.

chat Chat with the Owner
  1. Open a listing you're interested in.
  2. Click the Chat button to start a conversation with the listing owner.
  3. Type your message and send it — the owner will receive it and can reply.
  4. Your chat history is preserved so you can refer back to it anytime.
  5. On a phone, the chat opens in a full-screen conversation view. The notification bell in the chat header turns incoming-message sounds on or off.
  6. When automatic updates are at capacity, use Refresh in the chat to check for new messages. Your browser may require an initial tap or click before it allows notification sounds.

Chat is the fastest way to get specific questions answered directly by the business owner.
